Great food, literally best taqueria burrito in The valley but now it's $18.... Otherwise this place would be 5 stars... don't trust the yelp menu picks
Absolute awesome food, staff and location. If u love back of bodega Taco shop, this is one of the best!
One of my usual haunts when in wine country. I've been here more times than I can remember and have tried several things: carne asada tacos/burritos, carnitas tacos/burritos, chicken tamales, cheese tamales, nachos..... thus far, I've yet to be disappointed with anything. The tamales can sometimes be a bit on the dry side but throw on some fresh salsa over them & problem solved. Food is very reasonably priced, which is saying a lot considering where it's located. Can't go wrong ever eating here!
Ohhhh, La Luna. I've been here more times than I can count. Yet, I've only reviewed it ONCE?! How can that be? I was previously employed by a neighboring business next door and this was the GO-TO lunch spot for me and my colleagues. They're great about getting a large food order together if you call to give them a heads up. Their service is always a balance between efficiency and attentiveness, which I appreciate from a taqueria. This isn't a sit-down restaurant per se (even though seating IS available outside). This is more of a "grab and go back to your wine tasting journey" sort of spot. If you know, you know. After all, what better food can you think of satisfying your craving for carbs after you've been indulging in the valleys nectar of the gods? They have burritos, tacos, torta's, nachos, and quesadillas to choose from. These aren't your kids menu quesadillas either. It easily fills you up and leaves you satisfied. The burritos are LARGE and exactly what you need for a mid-day pit stop. These are two hand burritos so, come hungry. If you still somehow have room for desert, Little Maya's bakery offers an assortment of Pan Dolce to choose from. Plus, La Luna offers a ton of drink and snack options in their grocery store. This is a great one stop shop. Thank me later. (Note: photo of wife with burrito for reference)
One word, legit. Look no further for authentic Mex. We're visiting from San Diego and let me tell you, this is the real deal. Great carne and the salsa is Spicey and delish plus the homemade chips. ( Get outta here ) It's a market, so be fine w sitting g outside on a bench but visit this place or you'll have serious FOMO
Stumbled upon this place looking for a quick lunch stop. So good. We got the lunch plate and it was plenty for the two of us. If I were a local, I would eat here all the time.
I was not expecting to have such amazing Mexican food in Napa! Wow this place is bomb. Definitely recommend for authentic, delicious Mexican food. This place is in the back of a grocery store, where you order at the counter. Food was ready pretty quickly. They have seating outside. - Super burrito (5/5): OMG so yummy. One of the best burritos I've had, ever. The al pastor was perfectly seasoned, tender, so delicious. And omg everything you could ever want in a burrito was in there. The rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, everything delicious. And the tortilla tasted homemade and almost doughy. Definitely must try! - Chorizo quesadilla (4/5): this was also scrumptious, just a bit greasy. But what do you expect from meat and cheese lol. It was very yummy. - Tortilla chips (5/5): They tasted super fresh, just made. Slightly greasy but not too much. The salsa verde was so flavorful and not too spicy. Wow this place is amazing. Get the super burrito forsure
We initially planned to go to a nearby restaurant. But their wait time was too long for a drop-in without reservations. Stopping by here was perfect because there was pretty much no wait at all! As you know, I do not have that virtue of being patient! I'm still working on it! There was also plenty of street parking across the street! (Note: I didn't actually check the signs to see if I could park there but I think it is probably ok. But just letting ya know so you don't get mad at me if your car gets towed or ticketed. ^___^) We walk into this little market which is reminiscent of a gas station market but without the gas. There are a lot of different snacks you can buy. Oh and guess what?! You can even buy a mop here if you wanted! The prepared food section is in the back of the market where they have a pretty large selection. We decided on the Super Nachos and the Luna lunch. Nachos are one of my fav items to order. We pretty much order that anytime we see it. I wonder why I like to order nachos so much. I would have to say that perhaps it is because it is easy to share when you have at least two people. We decided on the Luna lunch because, hey, if it's named after their market, then it's got to be good right? Our order arrived in two to-go boxes. We stepped out and, conveniently, they have some picnic tables outside where you can sit down, relax and prepare (Such as, rubbing your hands together with a grin on your face) to chomp down the food like your 80's video game friend that looks like a pie chart. Initially, it seemed like a lot of food because the two boxes felt heavy as bricks. Of course, it tasted much better than an actual brick (But do let me know if you ever find an actual brick that tastes better than this and I will race over there to try that). The ingredients for both meals were pretty much the same. The nachos contained jalapenos (Don't worry it's not so spicy that you'll become a dragon), guac, sour cream, salsa, chicken (Note: You get to choose the meat), bean sauce, and mozzarella cheese (At least that's what I think it was). I will also definitely have to note here that this will be a cheese lover's nachos. The luna lunch contained similar ingredients. There was some veggies, guac, bean sauce, salsa, mexican rice, Al pastor (Again, you get to choose), and flour tortilla (Which we actually forgot to eat so can't tell you how that was). Surprisingly, we actually finished all the food (Again with the exception of the flour tortilla). Everything was tasty but messy (I guess after all these years, I still don't have good hand-eye coordination). While we were eating, we noticed this nearby family had a much better idea than us! They bought a bag of chips and some fresh salsa to enjoy along with their lunch. Next time, our strategy will be to buy a bag of chips, salsa and one entrée to share. For example, we ended up dipping some of our chips nachos into the luna lunch anyway. We will likely be back again at some point in the future. Don't know when, but until then, happy eating!
